About Thrive Today

Thrive Today is a resource channel seeking to provide applicable, educational and engaging content to followers of Jesus Christ regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey.

We believe that the Christian faith isn’t just for Sunday in Church; our faith informs every decision we make and every issue we face every day of the week. We want to give access to great biblical teaching for people who are seeking to grow in their understanding of what living as a Christian day-to-day means in their own lives.

We hope that this growing resource channel will encourage and challenge you, to help you worship and help you think, and to give you ongoing practical biblical application for your faith journey. Don’t expect to agree with everything you read or hear at Thrive Today. Christians often disagree on how to apply the principles of the Bible to the challenges and questions we face today. But you can expect to encounter biblical teaching, discussion around applying Scripture to our everyday lives and information meaningful to the Christian life with an emphasis on scripture engagement. The goal is to continually align ourselves with God’s purpose for our lives so that we can THRIVE.

We’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to send us your comments, questions and feedback via our Contact Us page.

About Dr. Matthew Jacoby

Matthew is the teaching pastor at his local church in Victoria, Australia, an author, a songwriter and a musician leading the Psalms project band Sons of Korah.

Matthew has a doctorate in philosophy and theology from the University of Melbourne, Australia and lectures at the Melbourne School of Theology. Having authored the daily Bible reading guide Thrive since it began in 2005 Matthew’s most recent work as an author was his book Deeper Places released by Baker Books USA in 2013. In Deeper Places, Matthew shares a rich portrait of authentic spirituality. A gifted teacher and Bible scholar, Matthew is often invited to speak at conferences and churches where he brings a fresh but foundational perspective to Scripture.

It’s a wonderful thing to look back on your life and see an overwhelmingly obvious pattern of divine providence. I do a lot of teaching these days in my various roles but I always see myself more as a learner. I love learning. I enjoy academic learning and because of that I am a perpetual student of many disciplines. But most of all I love learning to live life the way God made me to live it.
